Welcome to a detailed look at my home lab rack, where I’ve built a flexible and powerful setup for networking, storage, and virtual machines. Here’s what’s currently running in my server rack:

  • MikroTik Cloud Smart Switch CSS326-24G-2S+
This serves as the core of my network, providing reliable switching with 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports and 2 SFP+ slots for high-speed connectivity.
  • Three Zyxel 5G Router
This router ensure constant internet availability by providing failover backup internet connectivity.
  • Synology RS1221RP+
Specs: 32GB Memory, 10Gb Networking, 5 x 6TB Drives, 3 x 4TB Drives. This NAS handles my primary data storage needs, offering a fast, resilient, and scalable solution.
  • BliKVM V4 Allwinner
A key tool in my remote management setup, offering KVM-over-IP capabilities.
  • Synology DS213j
With 2 x 8TB Drives, this older model continues to serve as a secondary backup NAS.
  • MikroTik CRS305-1G-4S+
A compact switch that handles 10Gb networking with four SFP+ ports and one Gigabit Ethernet port.

Servers and Virtualization

  • Supermicro CSE-815 – Intel N100M (ASRock)
    • 32GB Memory
    • 2 x 480GB Intel DC SATA SSDs
    • OS: Proxmox
This server handles various Proxmox virtual machines, providing flexibility and resource allocation across my network.
  • Supermicro CSE-815 – Intel N100M (ASRock)
    • 32GB Memory
    • 2 x 480GB Intel DC SATA SSDs
    • OS: Windows Server 2022
This is dedicated to running essential Windows services and applications.
  • Supermicro CSE-216
    • 2 x Intel E5-2630L v4 CPUs
    • 256GB Memory
    • 24 x 480GB Intel DC S3610 SATA SSDs
    • 2 x 2TB Seagate SAS Drives
    • 1 x 1TB NVMe
    • 2 x 1.6TB Intel DC P3600 NVMe SSDs
    • Sparkle Intel Arc A310 ECO GPU
      OS: Proxmox & Proxmox Backup
This powerhouse server is the backbone of my virtualization and storage infrastructure, handling critical workloads and backups.

Personal Workstation

  • Gaming Rig
    Specs: Ryzen 3600, 32GB Memory, 4TB NVMe, Nvidia RTX 3060 12GB, OS: Windows 10
While primarily for gaming, this rig is also part of my setup for media editing and testing applications.

Power and UPS

  • 2 x APC 1400 UPS
These ensure stable power and protection for my equipment, minimizing downtime and safeguarding against power failures.

Proxmox VE Helper-Scripts

I highly recommend the Proxmox VE Helper-Scripts available at tteck’s GitHub. These scripts have saved me countless hours, automating many tasks that would otherwise take much longer to configure manually. They’re simple to use and work flawlessly.
